Creamed Chipped Beefon toast is magic. It is what royalty eat for breakfast and what kings and queens dine on when hammered. But for the rest of us peasants, chipped beef is a simple dish they we can consume with the monarchs. If you can make a simple gravy and chop up a few ingredients, then you can make this. Don’t over complicate this recipe. stick to simple and you will be glad you did.

Ingredients:

1 jar (or package) dried beef, sliced into thin ribbons

4 tablespoons butter

4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

4 cups whole milk

Pepper to taste

Bread for toast

Directions:

Melt butter in a heavy pan over medium heat. Add flour to the pan and whisk for several minutes to remove the raw flour taste. Slowly pour in milk and whisk continuously until a thick sauce forms. Add pepper to taste and stir in the dried beef. Serve over generously buttered toast.

Note: Normally you would add salt to the bechamel sauce but the beef is already quite salty so you should omit any additional salt. Or add salt, whatever. We don’t care.
